Parham Town Road To Be Closed For Works

The Ministry of Communications and Works is notifying the public that the road in Parham Town in East End will be closed from tomorrow, April 1, for approximately 2 weeks.

The purpose of the road closure is to finalise the drainage rehabilitation works along the Parham Town corridor. Persons are asked to follow road signs in the area to be redirected accordingly.

The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused during this time.

Closing Date For Festival Theme And Slogan Competition Extended

The Department of Culture and Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee are informing the public that the deadline for the submission of entries for the Festival 2015 theme and slogan competition has been extended until Friday, April 17.

Persons are reminded that the theme must focus on the historical and/or cultural heritage of the Virgin Islands and the slogan must include the words “Festival 2015.”

Trinity Term Begins April 15 For Elmore Stoutt High School Students

Minister Walwyn To Hold Office Hours On Virgin Gorda March 31

Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn is informing the community of Virgin Gorda that he will hold office hours on the sister island on Tuesday, March 31 at the Vanterpool Administration Building from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Queen Elizabeth II Park Closed Due To Heavy Construction

The Government of the Virgin Islands is advising the public that the Queen Elizabeth II Park is still a construction site. In this regard it is closed as heavy construction is underway to complete the park.  Members of the public are therefore encouraged not to access the park until all works are completed, and the park is officially opened.

Virgin Gorda Festival Food Handlers’ Sessions March

The Environmental Health Division is notifying all food vendors and businesses participating in the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival that food handlers’ educational sessions are scheduled for Wednesday March 25, at 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday April 1, at 9:00 a.m. at the conference room of the Flax building in Virgin Gorda.

Persons are encouraged to register for the two hour sessions early to avoid overcrowding.

The Conservation and Fisheries department is inviting the public to participate in an educational and stimulating “Eco-Walk” scheduled for Saturday, April 25.

The walk will be led by the department’s staff and will start at the Market Square in Road Town at 5:00 a.m. Participants will walk through a special route  to Sea Cow’s Bay and back to Road Town.
