The Minister’s vision was to have a central point of contact for all information relating to the student population within the public school system (Virgin Islands School District) of the territory of the Virgin Islands. The Ministry and Department of Education’s focus was to change the way business was conducted in the public schools and to get parents more involved in the daily academic and extra-curricular activities of their children. PowerSchool is a centralized student information database that is accessible via any standard web browser. Education Administration (principals, assistant and deputy principals, office staff, nurses, guidance officers and truancy officers), teachers, parents, students and other stakeholders will have access to information in “real-time”.

Process

Step 1:  The PowerSchool registration form is submitted during a student’s school registration.

Step 2:  Access accounts are created for the parents/guardians.

Step 3:  The parents/guardians access information is sent to the student’s school and forwarded to the parents/guardians.

Step 4:  The parents/guardians should then be able to login, and monitor their childs grades as they are entered by the
             teachers.
