The Scholarship Programme, initiated more than forty years ago, has been one of the main arteries through which the Government of the Virgin Islands has and continues to support the education and training needs of the citizens of the Territory.

This document reflects the final compilation of various policy decisions by Executive Council and Cabinet over many years, as well as practices and established procedures which, though not written or ratified, have been the modus operandi for some time. The policy is being revised recognizing the need to give direction to the programme to ensure its sustainability and the education and training needs of the population.
