Vision
Well-being, socio-economic stability and sustainable development through sport and empowered youth.
Mission
The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports is a catalyst to ensure the delivery of sport and recreation, and comprehensive youth development characterized by quality, excellence, equitable access and full participation, in order to create a better life for all residents.
Core Values
Youth is not a sector. Empowering young people between the ages of 15 to 29 who represent a changing and heterogeneous demographic requires an integrated partnership approach in the national development agenda. Similarly, as we pursue sports for all and excellence in achievement in line with the National Sports Policy, we are guided by rights-based principles that guarantee access and opportunity, and that as a Department we deliver services and supports in mutually inclusive ways that benefit all our stakeholders according to their needs.
