The BVI Airports Authority Ltd. will be conducting its biennial emergency simulation exercises at the Auguste George Airport, Anegada and the Taddy Bay Airport on Virgin Gorda.

The exercises are performed every two years as part of the aerodrome’s certification process and conducted in accordance with the Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements “OTAR” 139.

“Our objectives for these exercises continue to be for the importance of testing the emergency response of the BVI Airports Authority and our external collaboration agencies during an emergency at operational hours at the airports,” Acting Managing Director Mr. Clive Smith said.

Residents are asked to exercise caution during the exercises as there would be an increase in activity of emergency services around the airports during this time.

The BVI Airports Authority continues to satisfy its regulatory obligations by ensuring a safe and efficient gateway to the Virgin Islands and the world through its motto “Safety Is Our No.1 Priority”.
