The Government of the Virgin Islands is seeking the services of a qualified and suitable construction contractor to undertake separation of classrooms and other remedial work in the L. Adorothy Turnbull Building located at Elmore Stoutt High School, Road Town, Tortola.

The proposed scope of works consists of the construction of stud framing and mold/moisture resistant gypsum board to create separation walls in existing classrooms and installation of electrical fixtures and outlets, insulation to existing walls to mitigate sound, and paint finishes, as well as the replacement and testing of gas, oxygen/air lines from holding chamber to labs.

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said eligible tenderers are required to provide a detailed work programme showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed, the rates of progress and the estimated periods of time for their execution and completion, along with a list of similar projects completed within the last five (5) years.

Mrs. Rhymer added that tenderers must also have a valid Trade Licence in the specific type of work and submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect of the Social Security and taxes, including Payroll and Income Tax, from VI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance and Inland Revenue.

Bid documents are available on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bidding documents will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title Separation of Classrooms and Other Remedial Work in the L. Adorothy Turnbull Building located at Elmore Stoutt High School.

A virtual pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Friday, 23rd September, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. The access code and password will be provided prior to the meeting. This will be followed by a site visit. All prospective tenderers are invited to attend.

Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original, three (3) copies and one (1) flash drive containing the bidder’s documents.  The original bid should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “COPIES”.  Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope and marked Separation of Classrooms and Other Remedial Work in the L. Adorothy Turnbull Building located at Elmore Stoutt High School and addressed to:

All tenders must be deposited in the Tender Box at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit), RFG Place, Fleming Street, Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, by the bearer not later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 4th October, 2022.  Tenders will not be received after the Tender Box is closed.

Tenders will be opened at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, RFG Place, 2nd Floor at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, 4th October, 2022. Tenderers are invited to witness this process via Webex and will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening of the bids.
