His Excellency the Governor Mr John S. Duncan, OBE is delighted to announce that Deputy Governor Mrs V. Inez Archibald has been awarded a CBE and Mrs Annie Gardner has been awarded an MBE in the 2015 New Year Honours List.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II made the appointments as part of her New Year Honours List which was released in London today. The Queen’s New Year Honours List recognises individuals for outstanding achievement and service across the United Kingdom and the Overseas Territories.
“My warmest congratulations go to both recipients on their well deserved awards for their long standing dedication to public service and contribution to the community” Governor John Duncan said.
The CBE is the Commander of the Order of the British Empire. It is awarded for having a prominent role at national level or a leading role at regional level. It can also be awarded for a distinguished, innovative contribution to any area.
The MBE is the Member of the Order of the British Empire. It is awarded for a significant achievement or outstanding service to the community.
An MBE is also awarded for local ‘hands-on’ service which stands out as an example to other people.
