On behalf of the people and Government of the Virgin Islands, I extend congratulations to United States Virgin Islands Governor-Elect Kenneth E. Mapp and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Osbert Potter on their recent victories in the General Elections.

Their victories demonstrate the confidence of the people in the ability of this team to lead the USVI forward into the future.

There has always been a strong relationship between the British Virgin Islands and the United States Virgin Islands. This is reflected through our commitment to Inter Virgin Islands Council meetings and our annual BVI-USVI Friendship Day. As territories we share commonalities in our people, heritage, culture and history.

I therefore look forward to a continued, strong relationship with the United States Virgin Islands as we work to further strengthen our cultural and political relationships.
