Press Release

Office of the Deputy Governor
Civil Registry and Passport Office
Release Date:
Tuesday, 5 May 2020 - 1:11pm

The Civil Registry and Passport Office is now open for business and offering services online and by appointment.

Services being offered include registration of births, deaths and marriages; visa and passport services; naturalization and belonger processing.

Registrar General, Mrs. Stephanie Benn said that this is a period in time that has afforded an opportunity for her team to further improve the level of efficiency that the offices can offer to the public.

“We are aiming to reduce waiting time for our customers through the use of an appointment system, in conjunction with the newly establish Customer Service Care Centre,” Mrs. Benn said. She added, “As we continue to build our systems we are reaching out to our customers directly to assist them in locating and completing application forms and to allow for online payments to be received as well.”

The Registrar General explained that marriage services are also being requested at this time and the office is doing its best to accommodate this very important milestone in the lives of couples who wish to be married in the Territory, by having couples apply online.

She further said, “For marriage services, we can also offer these remotely and will issue marriage licences electronically. We have the technology to do all this and to also issue receipts with built in security features. We have lots more to come!”

The Civil Registry and Passport Office is in the process of restructuring to accommodate all these new changes and to deliver the exceptional service that their customers deserve. The services offered by the office will be done digitally via online and telephone interviews.

Persons wishing to obtain a service can do so remotely by applying online at crisvi.gov.vg or for application forms at bvi.gov.vg or call the office at 468-3457 for general enquiries.
