The public is advised that due to the rise in recent fraudlent activity, effective Februrary 1, the Civil Registry and Passport Office will no longer accept translations for foreign documents prepared by non-certified agencies or individuals. 

In order to standardise the processes, the office will only accept translation of foreign documents from certified persons who are part of a professional board or association, and are internationally recognised to act as translators.  These include teachers, professors and individuals certified in translating foreign documents. 

The public is asked to comply with this request by ensuring all foreign documents accepted for processing are authentic and follow the guidelines outlined.
