The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting the public to attend a community meeting on Tuesday, April 2 to discuss the redevelopment of the West End Ferry Terminal.

The community meeting will be held at the Leonora Delville Primary School in Cappoon’s Bay beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie said that redeveloping the West End Ferry Terminal is of paramount importance and the meeting is in keeping with his Government’s strategic agenda to provide a resilient infrastructure by carrying out a complete review of the current sea transportation system including all ports of entry.

Premier said, “The specific goal of the meeting is to ultimately construct a new modern passenger and light cargo port at West End with the input of the community as we strive to be inclusive in all of our endeavours.”

The community meeting is being hosted in collaboration with the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) and the Disaster Recovery Coordinating Committee (DRCC).

Preliminary conceptual designs of the facility will be presented to the audience followed by a facilitated discussion to allow public input on the redevelopment of the project.
