The Cabinet Office is notifying the public that Statutory Instrument No. 36 Public Health (Covid-19 Control and Suppression Measures) (No. 3) Order, 2021, and two Bills entitled the Cruising and Home Port Permit Act, 2021, and the Integrity in Public Life Act, 2021, are now available on the Virgin Islands Official Gazette website at https://eservices.gov.vg/gazette/.  These documents were published in an extraordinary issue of the Gazette No. 39 dated 23rd April, 2021.

The public is asked to take note that under Statutory Instrument No. 36, a person who operates a vessel is permitted to operate that vessel within the territorial waters between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. daily, and a person who operates a ferry is permitted to operate such ferry between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. daily. It also increases the maximum gathering size to two hundred (200) persons and in the case of faith-based services, funerals and weddings to two hundred and fifty (250) persons.

The Bill for the Integrity in Public Life Act, 2021 seeks to establish an Integrity Commission which would assist in achieving the Government’s objectives to promote good governance, to enhance ethical conduct of public officials and to strengthen the prevention and detection of corrupt acts by persons in public life.
