Deputy Governor Mr. David D. Archer Jr. has received an extension to his appointment as Chairman of the Caribbean Centre for Development Administration (CARICAD) Board of Directors until December 2023.

Mr. Archer was first appointed as Chairman of the board on July 21, 2022 and was responsible for the oversight of CARICAD’s board, providing strategic leadership and guidance as the organisation moves to transform Public Services throughout the region.

The extension of the Deputy Governor’s chairmanship is a representation of CARICAD’s continued confidence in the transformational work in public service leadership that the Deputy Governor continues to champion. Mr. Archer said that he remains committed to providing reliable and effective leadership as Chairman to the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Centre for Development Administration.

The Deputy Governor said that he is honoured to have the opportunity to continue his work as CARICAD’s chairman.

“CARICAD is pivotal to the forward advancement of this region, and to be a part of leading this transformation is truly a privilege,” Mr. Archer said. He added, “As I look toward the next few months as Chairman, I will strive to continue providing leadership that the Administration can depend on. The Virgin Islands continuing to play a vital role in CARICAD is a testament to our commitment to building a world-class public service.”

CARICAD, an institution of CARICOM, aims to provide “Training and Capacity Building to persons at all levels of the Public Service.” Since its establishment in 1979, the centre has led the way in public sector transformation, modernisation, and development. CARICAD provides guidance to governments across its 17 member states and seeks to build their public service, financial management, Human Resources and e-Government infrastructure.

CARICAD’s vision is to be a “Model of organisational excellence and the catalyst for institutional change and development.”
