Residents of the Virgin Islands are asked to do their part and be prepared this hurricane season. Persons are asked to:

1. Remove all derelict vehicles from the roadways, including boats and heavy equipment not in use. During natural disasters such as hurricanes, these items can be swept away and cause blockage of free flowing water to ghuts, drains or off the road way that may result in flooding.
2. Clear all debris and loose garbage on property.
3. Refrain from throwing bulky garbage in ghuts.
4. During recovery clean up, children should be monitored and not allowed on the public road where water is flowing.
