The Hydrology Study and Flood Risk Reduction of the Road Town Catchment will be discussed at two public meetings beginning tomorrow May 16.

Assistant Secretary for the Ministry of Communications and Works, Ms. Haley Trott is extending an invitation to business owners and residents of Road Town to attend the meetings on May 16 and 17.

Ms. Trott said, “The purpose of the meetings is to gather information from community members who have experienced floods in Road Town, especially the floods that occurred in 2003 and 2010. This first-hand information is vital to the success on the study.”

Meetings will be held at the following places and times:

  • May 16 – Training Division Conference Room, Betteto Frett Building,

7:00 p.m.

  • May 17 – Road Town Band Stand, 5:30 p.m.

The Hydrology Study and Flood Risk Reduction of the Road Town Catchment are part of the Caribbean Development Bank loan-funded projects. The Study is being carried out by Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure UK Ltd.

The Ministry of Communications and Worksis committed to developing a sustainable infrastructure that can withstand natural disasters and other hazards.
