A Royal Netherlands Navy vessel, the HNLMS Van Amstel, will be berthed at the Cruise Ship Terminal for a short unofficial visit from June 25 to 28 2015.

HNLMS Van Amstel (F831) is a ship of the Karel Doorman-class of multi-purpose frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy. The ship was built by the shipyard Koninklijke Schelde Groep in Vlissingen, and is named after the Dutch Commander Jan van Amstel.

This is not HNLMS Van Amstel’s first trip to the Caribbean. In 1995 she assisted in the response after Hurricane Luis hit the island of St Maarten in the Netherlands Antilles.
