Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie de Castro, is featured as she visited the Multipurpose Sports Complex on Friday April 26, the last day of the weeklong eye examination drive that catered to over 2000 persons in the Territory free of charge.

The Lion’s Club, Unite BVI, and Vosh International collaborated to bring a team of 14 volunteers that consisted of five ophthalmologists and nine supporting staff to facilitate the eye exams. Minister de Castro thanked the entire team of volunteers for their willingness to assist persons in need throughout the Territory while utilising the opportunity to get her eyes checked.

During the week, persons who were tested and needed to have prescriptions glasses received them on site. Special orders were also made and delivered to persons during the week.
