Minister of Communications and Works Honourable Kye Rymer is featured as he receives an update on recently completed infrastructural upgrades to the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport. Managing Director of the BVI Airport Authority (BVIAA) Mr. Kurt Menal updated the minister on the installation of a luggage conveyor belt and luggage collection area that has greater capacity than the previous belt. Another notable upgrade is the environmentally effective sewage treatment plant that has the capacity to facilitate five-hundred thousand passengers per year, which aligns with the British Virgin Islands Airport Authority’s goals. Mr. Menal said the BVIAA continues to meet safety and other requirements of the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2001 and other applicable regulatory instruments; and is continuing to create an environment that fosters employee excellence.
