The Marine Safety Investigation and Reporting Authority (MSIRA), in the Premier’s Office, confirms that a single boating accident occurred on Sunday, 25th May, 2025, in Leverick Bay Marina, Virgin Gorda. The single-vessel incident happened when a centre console powerboat, Anadanto, capsized, injuring all six individuals onboard the vessel.
Chief Marine Safety Accident Investigator Mr. Jerome Padmore, confirmed that a comprehensive safety investigation is underway. Following established protocols, the investigation will gather and analyse information to clarify the circumstances of the accident. Following the investigation, a safety accident report will be available to the public at an appropriate time.
The MSIRA emphasises that the primary goal of this investigation is to enhance maritime safety and to prevent future incidents. The findings will not assign blame nor determine liability. The Authority will continue its efforts and provide further updates as necessary.
