Tuesday, February 5–The Office of the Supervisor of Elections is notifying the public that the issuance of Voter Identification Cards has now resumed.
To obtain a card, voters must update their registration information and present Proof of Identity in any of the accepted documents:
· BVI Passport with embossed seal
· Belonger Card
· Belonger Certificate
· Certificate of Naturalization (If issued before June 15, 2007)
. Previous Voter Identification Card (If applicable)
In addition, applicants who are desirous of changing their name as it appears on their card and/or transferring registration are required to submit the following documents:
For Change of Name,
Form No.3 [Claim Form] (This form must be completed in-person, at the Office of the Supervisor of Elections) with any one of the following applicable documents including:
- Marriage Certificate
- Divorce Decree
- Deed Poll
With regards to Transfer of Registration,
- Form No. 9 [Transfer of Registration] (Must be completed in-person, at the Office of the Supervisor of Elections)
In addition to a proof of identity, any one of the following applicable document(s) is required:
· Cable Bill
· Water Bill
· Electricity Bill
· Telephone Bill
· Rental receipts that contains the new address
· Notarised document from the head of household/ lessee that contains the new address and confirms you are an occupant of the household. (A valid identification of Head of Household/Lessee is also required)
Please note that utility bills or receipts must be dated within two months prior to the date that the application for a Voter Identification Card is made.
