The Office of the Deputy Governor has announced that the King’s Birthday Parade and Celebration in honour of His Majesty King Charles III, is set for Friday, June 13 at 9:00 a.m.

The parade will begin at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza, continue along Waterfront Drive and conclude at the Queen Elizabeth II Park, where the celebration event will be held.

His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Daniel Pruce will inspect all units of the parade, following which there will be a march-past, the hoisting of the Governor’s Standard and the Royal Salute given in honour of His Majesty.

This year, thirty-four (34) officers from various agencies will receive honours. Sixteen (16) officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force will receive medals in honour of their years of service. Six (6) officers will receive the Overseas Territories Police Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct for 18 years of service.  Seven (7) officers will receive the First Clasp to the Overseas Territories Police Long Service Medal for 25 years of service and one (1) officer will receive the Second Clasp to the Overseas Territories Police Long Service Medal for 30 years of service.  

Two (2) officers from the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services will receive the Overseas Territories Fire and Rescue Brigade Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct for their 18 years of service while three (3) will receive an award for their 25 years of service.

Additionally, four (4) officers from the Department of Immigration and ten (10) officers from His Majesty’s Customs will receive the Governor’s Meritorious Service Award.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting the public to witness the event and is urging all those who have been honoured with medals to wear their decorations.
