Director of Projects in the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Drexel Glasgow has said that information on the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan is now accessible at one central location.

The newly transferred web page http://bvi.gov.vg/departments/rehabilitation-and-reconstruction-loan will host project information, monthly reports, interviews and other informational deliverables to educate the public on the projects under the loan.

Dr. Glasgow said the web page is a signal of Government’s commitment to keeping the public informed on how projects funded by the loan are being managed.

He further explained that a part of the loan requirement involves public consultation and engagement. “We made a consorted effort to centralise all the information about the loan programme from the Government’s site in one spot that will be palatable and friendly for the users,” he added.

Dr. Glasgow said community members can ask questions, give suggestions and state their grievances by completing the contact form on the web page. “Our officers are capable and ready to expeditiously address the concerns for our citizens,” he said.

The newly transformed webpage features an ‘About’ section that answers three pertinent questions: What is the RRL? How is the RRL Implemented? And how does the RRL benefit me?

The page also features an interactive map with information on projects that are executed at various locations. Interviews, videos, news articles, events and other relevant resources can be accessed on the page.

The Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan Programme is a $65.291 million loan negotiated by the Government of the Virgin Islands with the Caribbean Development Bank to rebuild social and economic infrastructure in the transport, water and sewerage, education and national security sectors.
