More than Seven Hundred (700) public officers were honoured for their years of service during a recent Public Service Employee Recognition Ceremony.

The officers received a certificate and tokens of appreciation for their 10, 20 and 30 years of service during the ceremony held in November.

The ceremony was held jointly by the Office of the Deputy Governor and Department of Human Resources as part of Public Service Week and was was aimed at collectively recognising public officers who have displayed a significant commitment to the Public Service through their time with the organisation.

Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Sharleen DaBreo-Lettsome in remarks, reminded public officers that they are at the core of the Territory’s advancement.

Mrs. DaBreo-Lettsome said, “I promise you this, every time you clock into work, every stroke of pen, every day you turn your computer on and every meeting, lays the blocks for the development of the Virgin Islands we envision. The Virgin Islands we want to see for our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.”

The Permanent Secretary also thanked public officers for their commitment to the Public Service, “On behalf of a grateful nation, I say thank you for your sacrfices, brilliance and incomparable dedication. You are beyond appreciated,” she stated.

Congratulatory remarks were also made by His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Daniel Pruce and Deputy Governor, Mr. David D. Archer Jr who expressed their profound gratitude to the public officers for their years of service and thanked them for their dedication throughout trying times.

The Office of the Deputy Governor remains committed to celebrating the dedication ad diligence of public officers.
