Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, Mr. Kye Rymer is urging motorists to pay attention to the expiration date on the new licensing sticker in order to remain compliant with the Road Traffic Act.

Mr. Rymer said that each motor vehicle insurance expiry date is now the same as displayed on the licensing sticker. Therefore, the expiration date is no longer at the end of the month.

He added that a person operating a motor vehicle in the Territory that is not licensed or insured is committing an offense.

Mr. Rymer further stated that in order to be fully compliant, customers must visit the Department of Motor Vehicle with valid insurance of no less than three months and no more than one year, complete vehicle inspection and payment of the appropriate fees.

The department of Motor Vehicles remains committed to providing efficient and accurate services in vehicle licensing matters and to promote driver safety in compliance with the road traffic legislation of the Territory.
