Local contractors gathered at the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) for the pre-tender meeting for the tendering of the construction work for the rehabilitation of the school.

Local contractors who expressed interest in the project after the Government of the Virgin Islands invited tenders for the redevelopment of the school attended the pre-tender meeting. The works are projected to last a period of six months.

Assistant Director of Projects, Mr. Duane Fraites, said, “The opening of the bid process is an opportunity for the local contracting community. This is one of the fourth tender for works under the rehabilitation and reconstruction loan (RRL) and the bidding process is still open so contractors can still apply.”

Tender documents for the Elmore Stoutt High School rehabilitation works are available electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg. All tenders must be deposited in the Tender Box no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.  Tenders will be publicly opened at the Procurement Unit on Tuesday, January 22 at noon.  Tenderers are invited to attend. This project is being led by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) together with the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).  It is part of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan (RRL), a $65.291 million dollar loan jointly implemented by the Government of the Virgin Islands (GOVI) with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to rebuild social and economic infrastructure in the transport, water and sewerage, education and national security sectors.
