The Conservation and Fisheries Department is reminding residents and visitors to the Virgin Islands that it is unlawful to remove fish and/or any marine life, inclusive of corals, sea fans, crustaceans and other marine species, from the Virgin Islands’ waters, in accordance with the Fisheries Act 1997 and Fisheries Regulations 2003.

However, fishing is permitted under a valid fishing licence and does come with provisions. Licences can be obtained through application at the Department located on the second floor of the Quastisky Building, near the round-about in Road Town.

Failure to comply may result in the marine specimen being confiscated. For more information, contact the Conservation and Fisheries Department at 468-2700.
