The Government of the Virgin Islands (GoVI or “Government”), acting through the Ministry of Health and Social Development is hereby seeking professional services from locally quali­ed and reputable person to manage and maintain the North Sound Burial Ground in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands.

The proposed works include providing all necessary labour, equipment, and materials, and carrying out all operations related to the management and maintenance of the North Sound Public Cemetery.

 As a part of this procurement process, you are required to visit the site in good time to allow you to assess the existing conditions, the requirements of the Works, and determine the equipment, required to complete the project.

The Management and Maintenance service to be provided by the person includes:

  • Maintain burial ground to ensure order and appearance is maintained on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that all debris and construction materials are removed from the cemetery upon completion of vaults for all burials.
  • Select and permit burial plots to ensure regularity and consistency of burial area.
  • To oversee and ensure that the construction of vaults is in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Ministry.
  • Unlock and lock cemetery gates to ensure daily access is allowed form 6:00 am to 6:30 pm.
  • Ensure sanctity of cemetery is maintained to ensure dignified peace for mourners.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the Cemeteries Supervisor or any other senior officer in order to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the burials.

The applicant should submit a business letter, resume and quotation for evaluation.

All applications must be deposited in the tender box at the Ministry of Health and Social Development (Procurement Unit), Voronicas House of Commerce, 3rd Floor, Long Bush, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, by the bearer not later than 10:00 a.m. local time on Friday, 28th March, 2025.
