Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Mark Vanterpool has said that the restoration process for works at the Police Headquarters has begun.

The contract was approved by Cabinet in November and Autland Heavy Equipment Company Ltd was awarded the contract to restore the building after the evaluation of five tender bids submitted to the Central Tenders Board.

The company will rebuild the police headquarters located at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza in the amount of $816,467.21.Works include refitting the roof, restoring the interior walls, installing furnishings and fittings. The project is expected to be completed in six months.

Vanterpool said, “The Deputy Governor’s office has been overseeing the project, with the Ministry of Communications and Works.  The ministry through the Public Works Department will be overseeing the project.”

A stakeholders meeting was held on December 7 on the site to discuss the components of the project.
