The Safe Haven Transitional Centre has completed its outreach initiative targeting vulnerable males in the Virgin Gorda community.

The event held on  April 4, was made possible through sponsorship of Mourant BVI, whose support enabled the distribution of Gift Vouchers from Riteway Foods Market to individuals identified as most in need.

Director of the Safe Haven Transitional Centre, Mrs. Nellville George Bronstorph, said it was a pleasure to be able to extend support to the vulnerable male population within the Virgin Gorda community through the donation of gift certificates.

Mrs. George Bronstorph said, “We are especially grateful to Mourant BVI for their generous sponsorship, which has made this initiative possible. Through this gesture of care, dignity, and inclusion, we are able to reach men who may be facing life challenges.”

The director added, “This donation is a reflection of the centre’s ongoing commitment to the goal of supporting individuals on their journey toward stability and wellness. At Safe Haven Transitional Centre, and the Ministry of Health and Social Development, we believe in the power of community. We extend a special thank you to all those who helped to make this initiative possible, and allowed us to make a difference in the lives of others.”

The outreach was coordinated in collaboration with Ms. Laurel Freeman, Programme Director of Children & Family Support Services within the Social Development Department. Ms. Freeman partnered with the Virgin Gorda Social Development Office, where Social Welfare Officer Ms. Sherilyn Roberts played a key role in identifying and reaching the most vulnerable members of the community.

The initiative reflects the ministry’s ongoing commitment to promoting social inclusion and supporting individuals on their journey to wellness.

The Safe Haven Transitional Centre remains committed to being a catalyst for social change and transformation within the Virgin Islands, as it continues to uplift and empower those most in need.
