Statement by Honourable Kye M. Rymer

Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities
Sewerage Update at Pasea Estate,

April 2nd 2022

I think it necessary to update residents of the sewage issue in Pasea Estate, next to Delta Gas station.

The Water and Sewerage Department is currently awaiting materials that were ordered a few months ago and should have arrived already. However, due to the economic challenges faced by the global pandemic, these items are still in transit to the Territory.

The Department aims to conduct an overhaul and install a permanent remedy that is expected to last up 50-60 years. This project will be conducted in three phases, and I am happy to report that phase one has been completed, and as a result, three hundred and twenty (320) feet of line were installed.

Unfortunately, the project has been halted due to the absence of materials. However, once received, a temporary solution would be installed to address the current issue which has resulted in a massive crater on the eastbound lane of the highway.

I thank the public for their patience and understanding and ask that you take extreme caution when traversing on the eastbound lane of the Sir Francis Drake Highway.
