Students from the Agape Total Life Academy along with staff of the Conservation and Fisheries Department are pictured collecting trash and non-biodegradable debris from and around the Brewer's Bay beach area. The clean-up activities were done in observance of World Wetlands Day celebrated on February 2. World Wetlands Day is observed annually to commemorate the adoption of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands on February 2, 1997. Government and non-governmental groups and organisations at all levels of the community and worldwide, have taken the opportunity to undertake actions aimed at raising the public’s awareness of the values and benefits of wetlands.
