The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for road, slope stabilisation and drainage works at Windy Hill, Tortola.
Director of Communications, Mrs. Arilene T. Penn said that the proposed works consists of the clearance of the land along the route of the permanent works, disposal of unsuitable site arisings, demolition of existing concrete and road pavement, construction of four retaining walls, construction of a drainage box and culvert and the reconstruction of road pavement.
She added that the works include furnishing all plant, labour, equipment and materials and performing all operations in connection with the road, slope stabilisation and drainage works.
Interested tenderers must submit all necessary documents to prove that the company is experienced in road and drainage works and is compliant will all the requirements to operate a business in the Virgin Islands.
Mrs. Penn said, “Interested persons must provide the Procurement Unit with proof certificates of good standing in respect to social security and taxes including payroll taxes and property taxes, trade licence and National Health Insurance and a Tender Security from a Bank or Insurance Company for a sum equivalent to one percent of the contract sum.”
She added that tender documents are available upon request from the Procurement Unit located at the RFG Place, Third Floor, Waterfront Drive. Tender documents are available from Monday, August 14. The pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Friday, August 25.
A non-refundable fee of $250.00 payable by cash or bank cashier’s cheque is required for the tender documents. Interested tenderers should submit one original and two copies of the tender and all tenders must be deposited in the tender box at the Procurement Unit no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12. Tenders will be publicly opened at the Procurement Unit on Tuesday, September 12 at noon. Tenderers are invited to attend.
