The Conservation and Fisheries Department is inviting the community to observe the 2016 International Coastal Cleanup Day by volunteering to clean and beautify Virgin Islands coastlines on Saturday, September 17.

Service organisations, schools, interested groups and volunteers are encouraged to register to participate in this annual marine clean-up and beautification initiative. They are also urged to photograph sites before and after clean-up.

Coastal clean-up activities are sponsored by the department, in collaboration with the BVI Tourist Board, and registered persons can receive bags, gloves, and data cards.

Persons can attend clean up campaigns on Saturday September 17, at 7:00 a.m. at Little Mountain, Beef Island; on Anegada at 6:30 a.m. at the Anegada Administration building; and on Jost Van Dyke at 9:30 a.m. at the Ferry Dock at Dog Hole, Great Harbour.
