BVI residents are invited to cast their ballot and vote for their favourite businesses as part of Trade Entrepreneurial Week.

The public will vote for the ‘Best of BVI Business’ Awards and give recognition to the Territory’s outstanding businesses.

The ‘Best of BVI Business’ Awards features the following categories: Best Trucking Company, Most Romantic Restaurant, Best Radio Station, Best Cellular Service Provider, Best Band, Best Photography, Best Ferry Service, Best Bank, Best Media House, Best Insurance, Best Local Hotel, Best Hair Salon, Best Clothing Store, Best Contractor and Best Spa.

Polling stations are located at the Central Administration Complex (East and West Atriums), Vanterpool Administration Building on Virgin Gorda, and the district offices on Jost Van Dyke and Anegada. Voting opens March 20 on BVI News Online (bvinews.com), Virgin Islands News Online (virginislandsnewsonline.com) and BVI Platinum News Online (bviplatinum.com).  Voting ends on March 31.

Director, Mrs. Karia Christopher said, “This is not a regular awards show…we believe it’s important that the people who make up this community have their say on the [businesses] they are most excited about. So we have chosen those companies that the average person experiences every day.”

The winners will be announced during Trade Entrepreneurial Week, at a cocktail reception on Thursday, April 6, at UP’s Cineplex. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Trade Entrepreneurial Week will be hosted by the Department of Trade, Investment Promotions and Consumer Affairs from April 3 to 7, and will be held under the theme: ‘Leveraging Businesses through Sustainability, Innovation and Financial Accountability’.
