The British Virgin Islands enters 2022 poised for another year of successful engagement with Asia’s Financial Markets and regional partners, led by the efforts of the Virgin Islands Government’s regional office in Hong Kong.

A Rapid Test Centre at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport for the testing of the COVID-19 virus.

The draft National Sustainable Development Plan will be placed on the Government of the Virgin Islands website bvi.gov.vg on January 15 for comments, recommendations and submissions from the public and industry stakeholders.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is confirming the passing of one person on New Year’s Day due to complications of COVID bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 40.

Ms Natasha Ruscheinski, the founder of PAW BVI (Promoting Animal Welfare), is the Territory’s newest recipient of the British Empire Medal (BEM) in The Queen’s New Year 2022 Honours List for her contributions to animal welfare.

His Excellency the Governor, Mr. John Rankin, acting in accordance with the advice of the Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie, has prorogued the House of Assembly effective Friday, December 24 until such a time a new session is appointed.
