Go outside the four walls of the community. Work in the schools, community, parents and outside agencies.

Process

Step 1:  A referral is made by the teacher of the respective school to the Student Services Center.

Step 2:  A meeting would then be scheduled.

Step 3:  The Counselor would then speak with the students and have individual sessions with them.

Step 4:  Depending on the problem, a phone call would be made to the parents of the child.

Step 5:  If the problem is in-house (behavior or academic) the counselor would do a feedback to the teachers of the respective
            school.

Step 6:  If the problem is beyond being in-house, a phone call is given to the parents of the child.

Step 7:  The counselors would then have a parent's conference where the parents would come in to counsel and discuss the
            matter.

Step 8:  If the situation needs evaluating, it is referred to the education psychologist or other agencies with the community
(social development and community mental health) for assessment.
