The Public Service Excellence Award Programme (PSEA) aims to recognise high performers, and improve employee morale in the Public Service. The Government of the Virgin Islands strives to create a culture of appreciation and celebration through our various awards and recognition programmes.

Process

Step 1: Any public officer may nominate an officer for the Public Service Excellence Award by completing the Public Service Excellence Award Nomination Form

Step 2:  Nominations are reviewd by the respective Ministerial Selection Committee.  The Selection Committee will review all nominations and solicit any corroborating evidence it deems necessary, including documentation from supervisors that the nominee meets the awared criteria  Nominations are valid for a period of six(6)  months.
 

Step 3: The Nominees from the respective Ministerial Selection Committees are advanced tothe Steering Committee for review. 

Step 4: The sucessful Nominees will be notified in writing, from the Governor and the Deputy Governor and recognised at the Public Service Excellence Award Progromme ceremony.

WHAT ARE THE AWARD CATEGORIES?
Nominees shall be selected on the basis of outstanding achievement or service to the Government of the Virgin Islands.

One award may be given in each categories:

  • Leadership
  • Personal and Professional Excellence
  • Service to Clients
  • Administrative Support
  • Volunteering
  • Organisational Development
  • Scientific/Engineering or Technological Achievements
  • Heroism

Please note that the Leadership in Excellence Award is only applicable to Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Department. All other officers are eligible for the other awards, except in the case of the Heroism Award, which is applicable to all public officers who meet the established criteria. Each category is described in the Nomination Form.

Turn Around Time

Public Service Excellence Awards will be awarded annually in July,m with two nominations periods from January - June and July - December.

Note to nominators: Once Part A, B and C are completed and signed, submit the Form to the nominee’s Ministerial Human Resources Manager for further processing at the address below:
