Acquisition of Crown Lands by individuals

Process

Step 1: Customer submits a written request by letter, expressing interest in purchasing or leasing a parcel or portion of Crown land to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour.    In the correspondence, the individual should include the location, size, Block no., parcel no., registration section, the purpose for the purchase or lease and attach proof of citizenship.

Step 2:  The Ministry will send a response to the customer acknowledging receipt of application.

Step 3:  A further response will be sent to the customer granting  Approval or Denial of the request.

Step 4: If the request is granted, a follow-up letter will be sent from the Ministry, informing the customer of the required documentation and other particulars that must be submitted for processing.

Step 5: Customer pays the fees due, and payment is immediately reflected on the account. 

Step 6: The  Instrument of Transfer or lease agreement is prepared and processed.  The Customer is informed when the document is ready for collection.

Supporting Documents

  • A recent passport size photograph of the applicant;
  • A notarized copy of the applicant’s Passport picture page and page four ;
  • or Birth Certificate
  • A notarized copy of Belonger Card;
