Purpose: To provide a forum for persons who love to read the ability to get together to discuss interesting books and other literary works in a relaxed atmosphere.
Benefits to the library:
• To expand adult readership
• To have the library known not just as a place for borrowing books
• To have the library known as a place to meet people
• To provide members with a group setting to view books that have been made into movies
Process
Step 1: Customer will attend the centres at the Conference Room at the Administration Building in the Valley on the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Step 2: Customer will receive books for discussion from the Virgin Gorda Community Library.
Step 3: Library staff engages the customer in enrichment activities at the book sessions.

• Material to be discussed can be fiction, or non-fiction
• Discussion will be done on any literary work selected by quorum of members at any meeting
• All literary works to be discussed must be easily accessible by all members
• A moderator will be selected at each meeting to monitor discussions for the following meeting.
• Meetings will be held monthly
• Members are expected to read discussion material in its entirety in advance and prepare themselves to discuss it at the next meeting
• Members must make themselves available to attend all meetings unless there is an emergency
• All meetings will start on time
• It’ s okay to disagree, but flaming and or inappropriate behavior and/ or language will not be tolerated
• The authority of the moderator must be expected at all times
• Keep to the topic under discussion, but feel free to introduce information that is relevant to discussion (historical facts, bio details, book background, related topics)
