Mr. Speaker, imagine having to brave the waters and travel on a regular basis to Tortola from Virgin Gorda, stand in a long bank line to have transactions done, and sometimes return home without being successful.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, on Tuesday, December 5 held two separate meetings with the Territory’s insurance providers and banks to discuss matters relating to the processing of claims and the status of loan moratoriums following the passage of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Acting Premier, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering led a delegation to Antigua and Barbuda on behalf of Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE from October 27 to 28 to discuss issues and seek solutions relative to correspondent banking relationships and its consequence on the Caribbean.
