After the Managing Director of Scotia Bank advised my Government that it was closing its branch on Virgin Gorda effective 1st September, 2018.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, on Tuesday, December 5 held two separate meetings with the Territory’s insurance providers and banks to discuss matters relating to the processing of claims and the status of loan moratoriums following the passage of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The Government of the Virgin Islands has received a donation of $100,000.00 toward the Territory’s rebuilding and recovery efforts. 

Good day my fellow residents.  As we come to the end of this September, I give God thanks for his continued blessings on our lives.  As daunting as this month was for the Virgin Islands, I believe we still have much to be grateful for.

Good day, as Premier of the Virgin Islands, I am pleased to report on progress with our recovery efforts following the passage of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
