The Government of the British Virgin Islands is moving proactively to reset its relationship with the local media, particularly as it relates to the financial services industry.

It was with great sadness that I learned that our former Governor of the Virgin Islands, Mr. Mark Herdman, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and Lieutenant of Royal Victorian Order had passed away on August 5. 

The Government of the Virgin Islands is informing the Virgin Gorda community that Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton, will hold office hours on Virgin Gorda, Thursday, August 20, 

Former Governor of the Virgin Islands, Mr. Mark Herdman, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE), Lieutenant of Royal Victorian Order (LVO), passed away on August 5. The Governor, Mr. John S. Duncan, OBE, who is overseas, has been informed.

Representatives from thirteen countries are in the BVI attending the 40^th Conference of the Caribbean, the Americas and the Atlantic Region of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA)

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE is encouraging Commonwealth parliamentarians to continue to unite to achieve regional success on a range of common issues affecting representative countries. 

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE is in Bermuda for a preparatory meeting ahead of the 2015 Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) being held later this year in the United Kingdom (UK).

Despite allowing a period of one month and one day for further reflection and consultation, I regret to announce that the Members of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition in the House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands have been unable to agree the recommendation of a Leader of the Opposition in accordance with section 70 (2) (a) of the Virgin Islands Constitution.

Over 70 Parliamentarians from 14 countries will soon begin arriving in the Territory for the 40th Annual Conference of the Caribbean, Americas and Atlantic Region of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) from July 25 to August 1.
