Outgoing Chair of the OECS Council of Minsters: Health Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Vincent O. Wheatley said during his one-year tenure, strategies for enhancing preventive healthcare of OECS Member States, reducing costs through more efficient pharmaceutical procurement were explored.

Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie de Castro will attend the 9^th OECS Council of Ministers of Education meetings in St. Kitts from Tuesday, September 10 to Saturday, September 14.

Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Vincent O. Wheatley will attend the 9th OECS Council of Ministers: Human and Social Development and the inaugural meeting of the Joint Council of Ministers: Health, Human & Social Development and Education in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The Minister will be accompanied by Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Miss Tasha Bertie. The meetings will be held from 10 to 11 September under the theme “Regional Development and Sustainability through Quality Education and Social Empowerment”.

The Government of the Virgin Islands has pledged $400,000.00 to the Governments of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenada to assist with the countries’ hurricane relief efforts.

The Government of the Virgin Islands will host the Eleventh Council of Ministers: Environmental Sustainability (COM:ES 11) from Wednesday 24th July to Thursday 25th July, under the theme “From Aspiration to Focused Action”. 

The Government of the Virgin Islands, in conjunction with the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean State (OECS) are currently hosting the Environmental Sustainability Exhibition; From Tuesday, July 2^nd to Thursday, July 4^th.

The Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Environmental Sustainability Exhibition scheduled from July 2 to 4 is proceeding as planned.
