Public Invited To Library Week Church Service

The Library Services Department is inviting the public to attend the annual Library Week Church service on Sunday, April 19 at the Zion Hill Methodist Church, West End at 11:00 a.m.

The theme for the week is “Creative Ways of Depicting Libraries: Through Art, Music and Story Telling.” The activities scheduled for the week will promote literacy through music, art and storytelling.

Additionally, there will be an open house at all libraries in the Territory on Friday, April 24 from 9:00 to 1:00 p.m. 

Library Services Department Receives Camera Lenses Donation

The Library Services Department is the recipient of a donation of two 35mm wide angle camera lenses to help build its Virgin Islands heritage collection.

Library Cards Are Not National Identification Cards

The public is advised that library cards issued to patrons by the Department of Library Services should not be used as identification cards.

According to Chief Librarian Ms. Suzanne Greenaway, over the past few months there has been an increase in requests for library cards at the Road Town Public Library for use as national identification cards. 

Ms. Greenaway explained, “The library card is restricted to the library services and should be used solely to borrow books or other reading materials.”
