Madam Speaker, thank you for the opportunity to provide an update on the Territory’s Road Infrastructure.
As you know, the road infrastructure throughout the Territory is not ideal. There is substantial deterioration of not only the top layer, which is the asphalt layer, but also the base and subbase layers that have been compromised in many areas.
Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye Rymer and a team official from his ministry, along with Representative for the Sixth District Honourable Myron Walwyn are pictured as they met with residents to discuss upcoming road works in the Sixth District.
Motorists are asked to proceed with caution during the upcoming days in Road Town, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda as preparatory cleaning will be taking place for the upcoming asphalt paving and road patching exercises.
The public is notified that a portion of Blackburn Highway, in the vicinity of Parham Town Bridge to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, will be temporarily closed on Saturday, November 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
