The Ministry of Health and Social Development has launched a video competition to promote diabetes aware and prevention. The “Beat Diabetes Before It Starts” Video Competition calls on students in grades two through six to create a 45–60 second video that highlights healthy lifestyle choices that can help prevent diabetes.
The Government of the Virgin Islands, through the Ministry of Health and Social Development, is requesting estimates to restore and polish 4,350 square feet of Terrazzo tiles at the East End/Long Look Community Centre. Estimates are due by Tuesday, 4th March, 2025, at 12:00 noon. Submissions must include the estimated cost, list of similar projects, a reference letter, certificates of good standing, and a trade license. A site visit is scheduled for Friday, 7th February, 2025, at 10 a.m.

This year's theme, "A Happy Mouth is a Happy Mind," emphasizes the connection between oral health and overall well-being. Poor oral health can lead to serious conditions like heart disease and diabetes, while also causing pain, discomfort, and social anxiety. The Ministry advises maintaining good oral hygiene, limiting sugar intake, and visiting the dentist regularly to prevent oral diseases.

World Suicide Prevention Day – September 10 Theme: “Changing the Narrative on Suicide” Too often, suicide is surrounded by silence and stigma. But behind every statistic are real people friends, parents, neighbours, and young people who deserve compassion and support. This year’s theme reminds us: It is time to speak openly, listen deeply, and break the silence. Suicide is not just a public health issue it is a human one. And most importantly, it is preventable.

The Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) invites firms to submit proposals for Consultancy Services for Engineering Design and Construction Management of Water Mains and Civil Works for the Farmers' Reservoir at Paraquita Bay, Tortola.
