The contract valued at $401,533.15 was awarded on Tuesday, 10 February, 2026, following a National (Domestic) Competitive Bidding process conducted in accordance with the RDA’s Procurement Policy and Procedures.

Government of the Virgin Islands Publishes Guide on the Proper and Lawful Exercise of Discretionary Powers The Government of the Virgin Islands has released a new fact sheet and comprehensive policy guide designed to strengthen the proper and lawful use of discretionary powers across the public service. Discretionary powers, commonly indicated in legislation by terms such as “may,” “if the Minister is satisfied,” or “it shall be lawful”, enable Ministers, public officials and authorities to make decisions in situations where the law provides a choice of actions rather than a fixed outcome.

The Ministry of Communications and Works has announced the successful passing of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 2025. The act was assented by the Governor on Thursday, 2 October 2025 and gazetted on Monday, 6 October, 2025. The amended act introduces substantial changes aimed at enhancing road safety, regulating the efficient movement of traffic, and adjusting penalties as a deterrent to the increase traffic violations across the Territory. It also aims at reducing the number of accidents, traffic offences commensurate with the Territory's development while increasing the accountability of road users on the public roads.
