The Government of the Virgin Islands (British) is inviting tenders for the collection and handling of solid waste on Jost Van Dyke and in The Valley, Virgin Gorda. Contracts will cover a three-year period for each location. Tender documents are available electronically from the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, and a virtual pre-tender meeting will be held on Thursday, 11th December 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Completed tenders must be submitted to the Central Tenders Board by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 30th December 2025. The Government of the Virgin Islands does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is working around the clock to respond to escalations in the region and support those affected, including persons from the Virgin Islands who may be in the region. The UK has launched Register Your Presence for several countries: Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Palestine, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. This allows the UK Government to share important updates directly with those in affected areas. This list is not exhaustive and will be kept under constant review.

Smith reaffirmed the BVI’s commitment to good governance, innovation, and strong partnerships with the private sector and international regulators to ensure continued growth and resilience.

Through initiatives such as the introduction of Saturday appointment services, the Department continues to modernise its operations and enhance convenience for residents and visitors. Ongoing efforts include process streamlining, digital service development, and staff training to ensure timely, reliable, and customer-focused immigration services that reflect the highest standards of integrity and excellence.
The Virgin Islands Ministry of Health and Social Development is inviting applications from qualified medical practitioners and a registered naturopath to join the Allied Health Professionals Council. The Council regulates and licenses allied health professionals, ensuring high standards and ethical practices. Appointments are for three years, with a two-term limit (excluding the Chief Medical Officer). Applications, including a Letter of Interest and CV, must be submitted by 30th May 2025.

The Department of Waste Management is seeking quotations for fencing and constructing an oil containment structure at the Old Derelict Vehicle Storage site in Sea Cows Bay, Tortola. The project includes installing 220 feet of 6-foot-high chain link fencing with galvanized metal posts, and a 16-foot-wide double gate. Bidders must independently assess the site and submit two sealed copies of their proposal, including a quotation, certificates of good standing, a valid 2025 trade license, equipment proof, and a summary of company experience. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for July 8 at 11:00 a.m., and submissions are due by 4:00 p.m. on July 17, 2025. Evaluation will be based on methodology (20 marks), timeframe (20 marks), and price (60 marks). The public is advised of scheduled water service interruptions to facilitate maintenance works in various areas across the Territory. On May 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affected areas include Sheppard Hill, Balsum Ghut, Lambert Estate, Stevens Land, Georgie Hill, and Little Hill. On May 30 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m., Long Bush, Lower Estate, and Huntum's Ghut will be affected. On June 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., disruptions will impact Paraquita Bay, Hodge's Creek, Fat Hogs Bay, Brady Ghut, Vanterpool Estate, Greenland, Parham Town, The Sound, Grove Hill, and Beef Island. The public is thanked for their understanding, and any inconvenience caused is regretted.
