The public is invited to participate in celebrations to mark the 42nd anniversary of BVI-USVI Friendship Day on Saturday, October 24, at 9:45 a.m. at the Central Administration Complex. This year’s activities will be held under the theme, “The Greater Virgin Islands: The Identity and Ingenuity of Our People.”
The Department of Culture is strongly encouraging the public to support this year’s Culture Week, which will be held from November 15 to 20 under the theme: “Remembering the Legends of Virgin Islands Music: Our Treasures,” by dressing in the Territorial attire.
The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) invites all public officers to participate in EAP Awareness Week to take place from October 20 to 23, under the theme, ‘Be Uplifted and Stress Free. Utilize EAP’.
A special invitation is extended for the public to view the ‘Clash of the Public Officers Fashion Show’ being organised in collaboration with UMI Fashions on Friday, October 23 at 4:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Central Administration Complex. The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing boat owners that the ramp at Burt Point has been temporarily removed, prohibiting boat access to the sea from that location.
The purpose of the ramp removal is to facilitate the implementation of the final stage of the Road Town sewerage force main connection line. The work is expected to be ongoing for four days, after which the boat ramp will be fully reinstated. The Ministry of Communications and Works apologises for the inconvenience caused and advises boat owners to access the sea at alternate locations.
The Water and Sewerage Department is advising the general public, especially customers in the Road Town area that there will be an interruption in their water supply today, Friday, October 16.
The reason for this interruption is to allow technicians to identify a possible leak in the distribution system. Affected areas include:
