The purpose of the meeting is to inform residents about the National Health Insurance System, its registration process and timeline of implementation. The meeting will give members of the community an opportunity to have their concerns addressed and also allow them to provide feedback on the information presented.

The public is asked to use alternate routes as the intersection at Chalwell Road and Threadfalls will be unavailable during this time.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is inviting all instructors and students of the Alternative Secondary Education Programme to a general meeting at the Elmore Stoutt High School on Thursday, September 10 at 5:00 p.m. in Lecture Room #2.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is notifying the public that a chronic disease self-management training workshop will be held October 6 to 9 at the H Lavity Stoutt Community College, Marine Centre building from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

The programme will be televised on Tuesday, September 8, from 8:30p.m. to 9:30 p.m. as part of a series of activities planned by the department in their campaign themed “Building Relationships with the Community”. The objective of the campaign is to educate the community about the services offered by the department, types of taxes and their due dates. 

Parents and caregivers of children with asthma are encouraged to collect a copy of the educational material referred to as “Asthma Education 101” being offered by the Ministry of Health and Social Development.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the public that the parking lot adjacent the New Peebles Hospital will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Thursday, September 3, as works to install the Sewerage force main will be ongoing.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is encouraging young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to register for the Fall 2015 cohort of the Technical/Vocational Education and Training Apprenticeship Programme.

The Agriculture Department is inviting farmers in Carrot Bay and neighbouring areas to attend a farmers meeting, on Thursday, September 10, at the Abraham Leonard Community Centre at 6:00 p.m.

The public is advised of the changes in the schedule for the opening of school for the 2015-2016 academic school year.  These changes are due to the interruption caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Erika with regard to the Leadership Training for Principals.
