The Conservation and Fisheries Department is inviting the public to participate in the 2015 International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, September 19.  Persons can also participate in the clean-up from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, October 5 in the Virgin Islands.

Hurricane Danny has been upgraded to Category 3.

The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Hurricane Hunter aircraft which investigated Danny this afternoon has indicated that it is a major hurricane.

Danny’s latest position was recorded as 14.3 degrees north, 48.6 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds are estimated to be 115 miles per hours with higher gusts.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is informing the public that traffic through the North Coast Road directly in front of the Carrot Bay Methodist church will be diverted on Saturday, August 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
